When You Feel Forgotten, Read Psalm 37

Learn why envy is a trap and how "delighting in the Lord" unlocks a life of safety, prosperity, and fulfilled dreams.

Psalm 37:1–4 Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the LORD and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

It’s hard watching others succeed while you quietly struggle.

You pray.
You try to stay faithful.
You try to do the right thing.

Yet sometimes it feels like life moves easier for everyone else.

Psalm 37 was written for moments like these.

Psalm 37:4-5

“Delight yourself in the Lord,
and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in Him, and He will act.”

Sometimes we think God has forgotten us because things are not happening as quickly as we hoped.

But Psalm 37 reminds us of something important:

God’s timing is not the same as human timing.

The chapter repeatedly encourages people not to envy others, not to panic, and not to lose faith when life feels unfair.

Even when life feels delayed…
God is still working.

Even when you cannot see progress…
God is still guiding your steps.

And even when your heart feels tired from waiting…
God has not abandoned you.

Sometimes the greatest battles are invisible.

The anxiety.
The overthinking.
The silent disappointment.
The fear that nothing will change.

But your story is not finished yet.

Psalm 37 reminds us to trust, wait patiently, and keep moving forward with faith instead of fear.

Prayer

Lord,
when my heart grows tired from waiting,
help me trust Your timing.
Give me peace when life feels uncertain
and strength when discouragement tries to take over.

Teach me to rest in You instead of fear.

Amen.
